Job title: Network Asset Manager at UMEME
Reporting to:  chief Technical Officer
Key Job Purpose:
• Management of acquisition, maintenance and retirement of all Umeme Network Assets nationally.

Interrelationships:
Works closely with the following:
• Safety Manager on Safety proofing all asset interactions
• Technical Support on Asset Register, Asset Performance analysis, planned maintenance and Strategic Asset decisions
• Network losses planning and design on technical and medium and long term assets planning
• Finance on Assets strategies financing
• Contracts department on delivery of New Assets and asset renewal projects
• Outage Manager in response strategies to Outage analysis findings
• GM Regulatory Affairs on Regulatory needs

The Principal Accountabilities
• Development of an Asset Management culture in Umeme that will inform “cradle to grave” assets decisions
• Designing safety into every step of the Asset lifecycle interaction
• In conjunction with Technical support and Network Losses, Planning and design, ensures that medium and long term plans reflect Technical loss reduction targets, asset performance, Asset risk analysis and business environment
• Reflecting legal and regulatory compliance in Asset lifecycle planning and management
• Develops strategic inspection plans based on Asset lifecycle planning and management
• Develops strategies inspection plans based on Asset analysis
• Contribute to Outage improvement programme with a view to significantly improving performance
• Systematic Emergency preparedness planning
• Management of specific unplanned outages in accordance with outage protocols
• Contribute to the development of Umeme business strategy development

Required Education, Experience and Skills
• Degree in Electrical Engineering within 7 (seven) years experience in Electrical Engineering Management
• Desirable-Post graduate qualification ideally in Engineering or in Management

• Strong communications and presentation skills
• Good performance orientation and ability to get people and teams to come along
• Capacity to work with Board and Senior Management Team
