Technical Coordinator between the National Animal Disease Diagnostics and Epidemiology Center (NADDEC) and the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT to Strengthen Supply Chain Management at NADDEC and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Coordinator between the National Animal Disease Diagnostics and Epidemiology Center (NADDEC) and the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT to Strengthen Supply Chain Management at NADDEC and the National Animal Health Laboratory Network.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate USAID | DELIVER PROJECT activities with NADDEC as indicated below:
Provide overall coordination and technical leadership in the implementation of agreed upon assessment and activities with partner organizations
Provide technical advice to the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT country director on issues related to veterinary laboratory services in Uganda including the management of veterinary laboratory waste
Conduct desk review of technical and policy documents on existing veterinary laboratory services and supply chains
With key partners and the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT team, conduct the laboratory supply chain assessment at NADDEC and selected district veterinary laboratories
Together with the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT (or just say “Project”) Country Director and the home office team, develop and monitor quarterly work plans for implementing NADDEC veterinary laboratory supply chain activities
Preparation of well-written activity reports and progress reports as requested to the Project Country Director and home office team.
Requirement:
A degree in medical laboratory sciences and/, or biomedical sciences, health sciences, or veterinary sciences, or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience working in a biomedical, clinical, or research laboratory in Uganda
Experience working with local and international partners at various levels to provide technical and administrative coordination of health programs in Uganda
Knowledge of animal and zoonotic diseases of epidemic potential that commonly affect communities in Uganda
Strong organizational and communication skills
Fluency in English; reading, writing and speaking and able to write high quality technical reports
Highly desirable:
Basic knowledge and/or experience working in supply chain management of health commodities in Uganda Laboratory management experience and understanding of technologies used in veterinary labs in Uganda.
