IT Officer- Habitat for Humanity Uganda Jobs in Uganda

Position Title: IT Officer
Habitat for Humanity Uganda is seeking to hire qualified persons to fill the following
Reports to: Finance and Administration
Manager
Duty Station: National Office with monthly
support visits to Luwero Branch
Location: Kampala
Purpose of Position:
Performs a variety of network related tasks in support of IT services related to the operation, performance and availability of data services and communication for all Habitat for Humanity Uganda offices.
Qualifications, Experience & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information systems, Information Technology. MCSA/MCSE
certification desirable.
• 4 years minimum experience managing windows 2000/2003 servers, windows 2000/XP workstations,
SuSe Linux server.
• Detailed knowledge of all developed software applications and their designated usage
• Networking design and operations principles, system integration requirements and procedures
• Installation, configuration and troubleshooting for operating systems, computer office suites, e-mail
and inter/tranet.
• Systematic approaches to networking, accessory equipment support and problem solving for multiple
users
• Virus protection software and identifying, addressing and removing viruses.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to mentor and coach on new initiatives
• High level of integrity and ability to make bold and
timely decision.
Position: Social Worker
Reports to: OVC Program Manager
Duty Station: Mayuge
Location: Mayuge
Purpose of Position:
S/he will play the lead role in overseeing Habitat for
Humanity Uganda’s programmes for HIV and other
vulnerable children in the respective Communities. The
position calls for a high level of; collaboration, networking
at local and District level.
Qualifications, Experience & Abilities:
• A minimum of a Diploma in social work or its
equivalent (additional qualifications are an added
advantage).
• Proven field based experience in coordinating HIV/
AIDS, OVC or related programs.
• At least 3 years of NGO project/program related
implementation and management preferably within
the HIV/AIDs sector.
• Understanding of HIV/AIDS/OVC programming/
debates and knowledge of similar programs in the
country.
• Experience in networking, advocacy and lobbying with
the local level government and other organizations.
• Ability to work and live in rural setting
• Ability to ride a motorcycle and evidence of a rider’s
license.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Computer and Facilitation skills.
• High level of integrity and ability to make bold and timely decision.
• Ability to communicate in the local language of the
community.
• Ability to work under a deadline and pressure
• Ability to take initiatives to advance the program
• Strong written and verbal communication in English
and knowledge of the local language spoken in any
of the target district will be required.
• Proven experience in participatory monitoring and
evaluation
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
