Our client, a logistics company is looking for professionals in this field,
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to the Managing Director in the performance of the following duties:

1. The Manager Business Development will be responsible for guiding the overall marketing strategy for the Company including:-
a) Ensuring the growth of the business in tandem with agreed targets.
b) Spearheading policies for attraction new clients.
c) Designing strategies for client retention.
d) Ensuring quality improvements in service provision and delivery.
e) Conducting market research and recommending to Management appropriate intervention measures.
f) Spearheading the soliciting, design and implementation of the sales and marketing plans.
g) Coordinating sales promotions.
h) Coordinating and supporting the implementation of projects in the Company to ensure value for money and compliance with relevant regulations and protocols.

2. Coordinating and leading the department including:
a) Taking responsibility for the overall performance of the department.
b) Supervising staff of the department.
c) Representing the department in Company meetings and other fora.
d) Drawing the budget and work plans of the department.
e) Providing guidance and support to contracts management.
f) Providing support to business related procurements.
g) Coordinating business growth and expansion projects.
h) Supervising Staff engaged by the Company to execute business development related tasks.

3. Managing the Department business including:
a) Ensuring that the department achieves its goals and financial targets.
b) Scanning the local and external environment for business opportunities and conducting market surveys to determine business trends.
c) Net working with other organizations to enable the Company to develop strong institutional partnership in the consultancy field.
d) Setting performance standards for all staff engaged in business expansion programs, and establishing procedures and strategies for undertaking new business.
e) Managing or coordinating business projects undertaken by the Company.
f) Mentoring staff and promoting their skills development.
g) Writing quality reports.
4. Performing other duties as may become necessary for the smooth running of the Department or Company as a whole.

Profile:
 Should possess Bachelors in Commerce or Economics (Hons) and Master’s Degree in Business Administration (marketing/PPM) from a recognized University/ Institution.
 Relevant professional qualifications will have an added advantage
 Should have ten (10) post qualification hands on experience gained in Public Sector five (5) of which should be at senior level. Five years’ experience in managing projects, procurements and consultancy contracts in a Public Sector.
