Position title: Operations Manager
Our client , People Performance Group, a logistics company, is looking for professionals in the above field,
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages all air, sea and land import/export files
• Manages customs clearance operations to ensure air, sea and land deliveries for the customer.
• Receives, verifies and approves import/export documents.
Traces and monitors all importation/exportation
• Plans and prepares customs clearance before shipment arrival in South Sudan
• Opens customs files and follows up customs clearance operations.
• Ensures the delivery of material to client within deadlines.
• Daily liaison and coordination with customer, shipper and local customs' authorities.
• Sends complains to shipper in case of non-conformity.
• Spreads information through appropriate communication means in case of litigation relative to a file.
• Draws, updates and upgrades customs operational standards, rules and procedures.
• Ensures customs operations are in compliance with South Sudan's customs procedures and company's rules and procedures.
• Conducts regulatory self-audits / compliance to the latest customs regulations.
• Informs the client and company hierarchy of possible problems and delays.
• Coordinate with invoicing team for the timely Invoicing to clients once the job is finished / as per agreed terms.
• Submission of weekly/ monthly report as required by the HOD/ Management.
Profile:
Should possess a BA/BS/MBA Degree in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management or Equivalent.
5-7 years' experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding or international logistics at Manager Level.
Proven performance track record (Sales or Operations).
Excellent computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint, internet) and database management.
Fluency in English both written and spoken.( Arabic will be an added advantage)
Able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change frequently due to changes in government regulations or business needs.
Strong ethics in dealings with customers, suppliers and contractors.
Team Player with good interpersonal skills
