Pediatrics and PMTCT/EID Coordinator at Baylor Uganda

Job Title: Pediatrics and PMTCT/EID Coordinator
Organisation: The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Uganda (Baylor -Uganda)
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Job Summary: To align up to date MoH guidelines for Pediatrics and PMTCT/EID to health facility service programs, system and structure and make appropriate recommendations in line with MoH guidelines for Pediatrics and PMTCT/EID.

About Baylor Uganda: The Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) Headquartered at Mulago Hospital, is a comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment organization that supports the treatment and care of HIV infected and affected Children and Adults.
Baylor-Uganda has four operational areas; HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention services, maternal child health services. Health Professional training and Clinical Research.
Baylor-Uganda is in receipt of PEPFAR grant through CDC, and is looking for knowledgeable, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to become part of its team in Eastern, West Nile and Rwenzori region.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The job holder should have;
·         A degree in medicine & masters in Pediatrics or Public health and must
be registered with the relevant professional body.
·         Trainer of Trainers in PMTCT and Early Infant Diagnosis and must have solid working knowledge (practical skills) in the following areas: PMTCT, PWP, HCT, AB and ART
·         3 years of related experience in Pediatric/PMTCT/EID Programs, with a reputable national/international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives
·         Have Key personal competences in Team and communication skills.
·         Must be dynamic.
·         Persuasive &convincing, self-motivated and able to demonstrate high initiative.
·         Should be willing to travel to the field for up to 65% of his/her time to various Baylor supported regions

Job Title: Laboratory Officers (3 Vacancies)

Job Summary: Review and monitor the implementation of guidelines for providing laboratory test services in the region in line with current MoH laboratory professional standards and Baylor Uganda’s mission.

·         A degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science or other laboratory related course with 3 years of laboratory work experience.
·         2 years experience at a supervisory role will be an added advantage.
·         The candidate must be 25-35 years.
·         Have Key personal competences in customer care principles, team, Focused and observant, analytical skills, networking and communication skills, documentation and reporting, presentation and training skills, proficient use of automated laboratory instrumentation.
·         Should have knowledge in laboratory CQI
