About Umeme:_Umeme Limited is an Electricity Distribution company listed on the Uganda and Nairobi Securities Exchange, with Actis’ Infrastructure 2 fund as a majority investor. Actis is a leading investor in the emerging markets, managing over US$4.8bn worth of investment on behalf of more than 100 institutional investors, including the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), a UK Government owned company. Umeme is seeking to recruit employees with high integrity, dedication and commitment to fill the positions below in the Regulatory Affairs & Legal Department. The position holders will be stationed at our Offices in Kampala.

Job Purpose: Responsible for developing and controlling the implementation of policy, regulatory procedures and standards for pricing of electricity distribution and end user tariffs

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Compile Umeme Ltd’s Annual and Quarterly Tariff Applications.
·         Undertaking financial modeling, maintaining and updating the company’s tariff model.
·         Analyse the Electricity Regulatory Authority’s Tariff determinations.
·         Undertake the relevant analysis of the approved tariffs, and carrying out relevant tariff reconciliations.
·         Collect and analyse economic data of relevance to the regulatory framework. Undertake benchmarking exercises of end user tariffs.
·         Coordinate the Umeme Investment verification exercises.
·         Participating in the process by the Electricity Regulatory Authority tariff determining the appropriate tariff structures and pricing levels of electricity.
·         Participating in the Electricity Regulatory Authority methodology development.
·         Participating in the electricity sector planning activities in the short-term, medium and long term, with respect to the Distribution network expansion, the Generation and Transmission network expansion programmes.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         A degree in Accounting or Quantitative Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, and or a Professional Accounting Qualification – ACCA, ACA CIMA, CPA
·         Proficient in financial accounting and economic skills.
·         Previous relevant working experience of at least 3 years in the Utility Industry.
·         Should have worked for at least 3 years working experience at a senior managerial level.
