Job Title: Finance Officer, Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Summary: The job holder will be responsible for the management of War Child UK’s program overall finance, accounts and administration. Areas of program responsibility include, but are not limited to leading
the following functions; accounting, budgeting, financial planning and reporting, debtors/creditors management, cash management and insurance
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform all balance sheet account reconciliation’s on a timely basis for All WCUK, Uganda offices and that discrepancies are brought to the attention of the Finance Manager to facilitate decision making.
Ensure internal control procedures are followed for all cash disbursements, receipts and transfers
Responsibility for carrying out all day-to-day financial tasks including preparation and processing of petty cash vouchers, petty cash reconciliations, bank reconciliation, cheque preparation, processing of invoices, maintenance of cheque register, financial filing for Kampala office.
Help In processing the national payroll including ensuring standard financial controls, salary allocations and serve as the secondary liaison with field offices and local government to ensure compliance with national tax and labour regulations.
Support the provision (quality narrative and auditable financial reports to War Child UK and donors.
Help actual budget results lo identify compliance issues and provide necessary project reviews.
Participate in strengthening the financial capabilities of partner organizations notably through training and workshops.
Review of financial data submitted by all staff and partner CBOs to identify weaknesses or problems being encountered and to recommend corrective action.
Be gender sensitive in all the financial activities.
Any other task as needed by the Country Finance Manager.

Salary: Grade 5, Step A - J (UGX 1,100.000 to UGX 1,403,910) depending on qualification and experience.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge of Quick Books and advance excel are a must.
BA in Finance or Accounting.
Profession Qualifications in Accounting (ACCA or CPA level 2) is an added advantage.
2 - 3 years of post graduation experience.
Demonstrable technical skills in accounting and financial management.
Demonstrable ability to develop budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
