Job Title: Human Resource Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Brief sumary of the job
 The HR Manager will ensure that the right staffs are recruited and retained in the organisation, and to develop strategies, policies, processes and procedures that govern the administration function of the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Sets Human Resource Recruitment and Development strategies in liaison with Senior Management Team
    Ensures effective staff hiring procedures are in place and implemented accordingly
    Develops and maintains live and up-to-date human resource management procedures
    Be Responsible for the development of realistic job evaluation and grading system
    Develops and continuously amends the organisation chart as approved by management
    Ensures that Performance Management is established and becomes part of the everyday culture
    Develops, implement, and maintains a cost effective staff remuneration structure.
    Ensures maintenance of an adequate level of human resource in terms of numbers and quality
    Oversees the development of human resource planning including succession plans
    Develops, implements and controls effective staff training programs
    Ensures productive employee welfare, commitment and loyalty to the company
    Ensures the security of the property and staff of the organisation
    Ensures that the industrial relations and welfare climate in the organisation is conducive
    Oversees the management of the transport section of the organization
    Ensures that performance Management is established and becomes part of the everyday culture
    Coaches and develops departmental staff and regularly appraises them
    Responsible for effective management of Procurement activities in the company.

Qualifications and Skills :

    The applicant should possess a B.A degree in Social Science, with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any other degree from an internationally recognized University and a Post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management
    A Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or MBA would be a definite advantage.
    Three to five years working experience in a distributed network of staff
    Membership of a recognized Human Resource Management Association or Institute would be an added advantage.

Personal Competencies:

    High integrity and dependability
    Ability to work under minimum supervision
    Knowledge of Labor Law of Uganda
    Proficiency in HR Management Principles and Procedures and internationally recognized best practices
    A mature, seasoned professional manager who is able to interact and coordinate activities with staff at all levels of the company
    A seasoned professional person who networks widely within and without the company.
