About Uganda Management Institute (UMI)
Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is a Management Development Institution with a mission “to excel in developing sustainable management capacity”. It provides management training, consultancy and research services in response to the demands of the public, private, and NGO sectors. In addition to short performance improvement management skills development courses, the Institute offers high quality career development management courses at Certifi cate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Higher Degree Levels.

The Institute’s activities are currently carried out at the main campus in Kampala and its Outreach Centers in Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale.

Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Taking overall responsibility for the administrative functions in the Centre
(ii) Providing Administrative support to the training, consultancy and research activities at the Center
(iii) Managing the office and the day to day activities of the Centre
(iv) Performing a public relations function
(v) Handling documents and correspondences
(vi) Performing other duties as may become necessary for the smooth running of the
Center or Institute as a whole

Qualifcations and Skills
a) Applicants should have an honors first Degree in a Management related field from
a recognized Institution
b) Applicants with Secretarial training will have an added advantage
c) At least three years relevant working experience (including supervisory experience) gained in a reputable organization preferably an Institution of higher learning.
d) Well-developed interpersonal, communication, team building and analytical skills
e) Should be proficient in MS office applications and internet/email technologies

Terms of Service
Successful candidates will on being confirmed in appointment, be offered a five-year
renewable contracts, a competitive basic salary complemented by housing allowance,
medical allowance, transport allowance and an attractive gratuity scheme. Staffs are also provided with support for continuous personal development.
