Job title: Finance Officer: Uganda Child Rights NGO Network
Country: Uganda City or Location: Kampala
Brief Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support Annual, quarterly and project budgeting processes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of prime entry and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
• Process payments and disbursement in compliance with established procedures and internal control processes.
• Undertake banking activities and operations
• Manage the petty cash system
• Ensure regular and periodic reconciliation of all accounts
• Produce internal financial management reports including; cash flow statements, income and expenditure statements and balance sheets.
• Monitor and report on the financial performance and status of projects budget lines.
• Monitor and truck funding disbursements from development partners
• Produce timely and accurate reports for development partners based on pre-agreed formats
• Support the internal and external audit processes
• Support the Finance and Administration manger in building the capacity of staff and partners in financial management
• Under take any other function as may be delegated by the Finance Manager.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, BBA specializing in accounting.
• Professional qualifications in accounting such as ACCA, CPA are highly desirable.
• At least three years in an accounting position in a busy Non-Governmental Organization
• Experience in managing and accounting for donor funds is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of Quick-books
