JOB TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (02 POSTS)
Job Description
Reports to: Regional Coordinator
Role: To Deputise the Regional Coordinator in planning, reviewing, coordinating and implementing UNATU
programmes in the designated Region in line with the strategic objectives.

KEY DUTIES

    Perform administrative duties with regard to prompt and efficient processing, filing, dispatch of all regions’ correspondence, information and records in line with the regional office guidelines.
    Schedule internal and external customer appointments and provide feedback in line with defined procedures.
    Plan and coordinate the requisition and utilization of the regions materials and equipment in accordance with administrative guidelines.
    Organize and coordinate, meetings take down minutes and provide feedback in line with UNATU and regional guidelines.
    Maintain an up-to-date record of Accounts for the branches within the branches of the respective regions.
    Maintain an up-to date inventory of regional assets and financial ac counting guidelines.
    Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the relevant authority

Basic Requirement:

    Bachelors Degree in Development Studies, Social Work and Social Administration, Business Administration and Management or any Other related field.
    At least 2 years of practical experience in similar role in a reputable and busy Organisation.
    A qualification in Information, Communication and Technology will be an added advantage.

Application Procedure:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts (being re-advertised) in the Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU). Applications should be submitted in duplicate, to the office of the General Secretary, UNATU, at the Teacher’s House on Plot 28-30, Bombo Road, Kampala. 
The closing date for receiving applications is 10th May 2013 at 17:00hrs. Applications should bear the title of the post being applied for. Applicants should attach certified photocopies of their academic transcripts and certificates, documentary evidence of all experience claimed, plus a recent passport photograph on each application form. 
Applicants must also provide Reference Letters from three different referees, who should be advised of the closing date to avoid delays. Qualifications from only recognized Institutions will be considered. Applicants should not be more than 50 years of age. Duty Station: Any UNATU Regional Office
Salary Scale: NT4 Basic Monthly Salary of Ugx: 573,364/=
